Luton Airport
Luton Airport is just outside Luton about 32 miles from central London. Access is easy from the M1 motorway or from the A1(see map). By road it might take over an hour from central London because of traffic conditions. Rail connections from London are operated by First Capital Connect from St. Pancras to Luton Airport Parkway (journey time 25 minutes) with a free shuttle bus between there and Luton Airport, which takes a few minutes. Trains also run hourly overnight from London Blackfriars. These are operated by First Capital Connect. The service from Bedford via Luton Airport down to Gatwick Airport and on to Brighton on the south coast runs almost 24 hours a day via St. Pancras (connection to Eurostar). This service travels right across central London with many local stops. East Midland Trains run two trains per hour from St.Pancras (journey time 25 minutes) Please note that because owners of the franchises to operate rail services change from time to time as they come up for renewal, the names of the rail companies might change but the same areas are covered by the new company. Taxis from Luton Airport to central London will probably cost around £80. There is a taxi rank by the main terminal building. As goes for every other airport and train station for that matter, only travel with in a licensed vehicle. London Taxis going the other way from London to Luton will be £100 + on the meter but fares can be negotiated with the driver especially if he/she lives in Luton. Coach services are run by several companies to and from central London. National Express Tel +44 (0)8705 808 080 Flightlink Tel +44 (0)8705 757 747 They also link to Heathrow/Gatwick/Stansted Airports. Greenline ( 757)to and from the Collonades, Buckingham Palace Road London SW1, with several stops on the way. Tel +44(0) 844 801 7261 This also now incorporates Easybus with the services running 24/7 Car Hire
